I passed my test first time with 2 minors as a result of learning to drive with Matthew! I really struggled with the ring roads but he never made the subject feel rushed and was extremely patient with me. He is definitely a dedicated instructor and he put in lots of his own time into making the learning process as successful as it could be!

My son George passed his test today, with no minors! Very happy with the service Matthew Stroud provided and would certainly recommend him.

To be honest I was really nervous about learning to drive, especially on the Ring road. Luckily Matthew was a great teacher for me because he was very friendly, calm, reassuring and patient. He always tried to adapt the lessons to suit me. When I was struggling and despaired I would ever pass he didn’t give up and pushed me to overcome things I found difficult.
In the time leading up to my test he did all that he possibly could to prepare me. Despite having my test postponed due to the Covid restrictions, I was finally able to take it recently and was thrilled to pass – first time and with zero faults. I would totally recommend him as an instructor.

To put it simply, I was terrified of driving when I started, however, after my very first lesson with Matthew I already felt alot more confident and at ease.
His way of teaching worked excellently for me. He was always clear and direct and made sure I was happy with what we were doing in the lessons. His lessons were always well structured and would be tailored to the student, with constructive feedback given at the end to make sure I knew how to improve.
Thanks to Matthew I managed to pass my test first time with a new found confidence in my driving abilities. Fully recommend!

I would really recommend Mathew as a driving instructor he was very good at explaining to me and helped me pass my test which I was over the moon about, passed my test within 6 hard weeks off driving and without a doubt I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor

Matthew helped me to finally pass my driving test (with no minors), 12 years after originally failing and having not driven since! I couldn’t recommend him more to anyone who is looking to learn to drive. His style of teaching was great, we would focus on specific things each lesson until I felt confident on them. He was always relaxed, patient and encouraging. He kept me up to date with the situation over the lockdown period and ensured his car was really clean between each lesson. He seems to really care about his pupils (e.g. booking me on a cancelled test and giving me a book to help me learn), and it is testament to him that so many of his pupils pass and to a high standard. Thanks again Matthew!

I would recommend Mathew to anyone looking for driving lessons, he helped me pass within a couple months, all credits to him, he’s a very friendly instructor that teaches very well, couldn’t have asked for better service considering I am hard to teach 10/10

Matthew has been a fantastic driving instructor and I could not recommend him more highly to anyone wanting to learn to drive.
I found his teaching style worked really well and I felt more confident after every lesson. His lessons were well structured, with a detailed plan, allowing our time to be maximised. He is patient, encouraging and just a genuinely nice guy.

Matthew, is a brilliant instructor. He helped me develop many amazing driving skills that helped me pass my test.
His lessons, are very well structured, planned and delivered smoothly. He knows what was best for me for building confidence or gaining new driving skills. One of the best skills Matt has is patience. when I was struggling with certain aspects of driving he wouldn’t stop aiding and guiding me until I got them smooth. All in all, he made my driving very comfortable and competent.
I would highly recommend Matt, to anyone looking to start or carry on driving as he knows how to help a student and gain amazing skills.

Matthew has taught both our girls to drive now and we cannot recommend him highly enough. He has consistently gone out of his way to ensure both of them learnt to drive safely and confidently. He was always willing to discuss any issues and he tailored his techniques to their different personalities. Both girls have said they think he was the perfect instructor for them.

After two long years because of COVID finally managed to get to the end and can’t thank Matthew enough for being so patient and making it such an enjoyable experience, I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a instructor to go with him.

I would definitely recommend Matt. He made learning to drive enjoyable. Matt remained calm which kept me calm. Matt recommended 1.5 hour lessons as I found 2 hrs too long. Matt managed to get me a quick test by booking a cancellation which I know he has done for other learners.

Thank you Matthew for your dedication and patience whilst teaching me to drive. Couldn’t have passed my test without your constant support, I wasn’t the easiest to teach. Thank you for putting up with me, Would definitely recommend to everyone.

Best Driving instructor, He goes out of his way (on days off) to support you if your struggling with anything he knows when your test ready and explains everything on why and how it’s done that way no faults what so ever with PRZ driving totally recommend 10/10

Matt is an absolutely brilliant driving instructor and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Despite the heavy snow my daughter passed first time yesterday with just one minor fault. Throughout her lessons she found Matt friendly, patient, calming, supportive, very informative and flexible. A great fit for any new driver. Matt even took the time to send regular updates, undertook mock tests to understand fully any weaker areas and encouraged and pushed her forward whenever the time was right. The 1.5 hour lesson was the perfect length for my daughter and she looked forward to each one. Matt even booked a test last minute for her, saving us the angst of trying to get one. I am confident Matt is one of the best driving instructors in the locality and I highly recommend.

Matthew is a fantastic driving instructor. He taught me to drive in a very effective and friendly way. I passed first time with one minor fault. The lessons were constantly taking my driving forward without being too challenging or dispiriting. Most importantly, he taught me not just to pass the test but to drive safely.
I’ve learnt to drive at 40, so for any older learners I can vouch for how good Matthew was with me. If I’d had Matthew as an instructor at 17, I would have learnt to drive back then!

After learning with Matthew for three years on and off, I really can’t speak highly enough of him.
He’s an exceptionally good teacher and knows the ins-and-outs of driving like the back of his hand. All round he’s a lovely and very kind hearted bloke who regularly goes above and beyond what’s required purely for the benefit of his students. I highly recommend Matthew to anyone wanting to learn to drive. His teaching is excellent and always helped to try and explain aspects of driving I found difficult. Matthew was especially helpful on the lead up to my driving test trying to help me get in some extra practice and also sending notes for routes I could do myself with my parents. A really kind person and a pleasure to be taught by.

Matt is an absolute legend, I’ve had a couple of instructors and he is by far the best and most thorough I’ve had. He leaves no stone unturned and teaches you everything you need to know and more to get you through your test. Would recommend to absolutely anyone!!

Matt has been an amazing instructor, he has pushed me to develop my driving quickly and enabled me to pass first time. My test was on the 27th of December and despite being so close to christmas, Matt took me out on boxing day for nearly 3 hours to fix everything before the test. He also took me out for 2 hours before my test to do some last minute practise. I had been on all the roads bar one on my test route, making it feel much easier and less stressful!
I highly recommend Matt, he is an excellent excellent instructor.

This man is a top tier instructor that doesn’t teach you like a robot. Matt helped me become a competent driver. He stresses the importance of dealing with situations accordingly with measured approach, not panicking or overly cautious but with confidence.
And this is brought about by thinking through all the risks and mitigating them with the right driving sense during any scenario which he gets you to realise yourself by asking the right questions to allow for lessons to be learned through self reflection and not being spoon-fed the right answer ensuring mistakes and bad driving habits are corrected.
In stark contrast to my previous instructor who taught driving by the textbook, this method of teaching under his guidance has and will enable me to deal with an eventuality – dual carriageways, the dreaded parallel park – you name it he’ll get you where you need to be.
His meticulous style of teaching will allow you to deal with whatever surprises the test throws at good or bad! As long as you are equipped with the right knowledge and practical experience. It will be a breeze.
Since passing first time today with ZERO faults the proof is in the pudding! 🥂

I was told by my first instructor I would never be able to drive a manual and after I had so many sporadic lessons and not getting anywhere I decided to change instructor.
I passed my test first time last week! Thank you Matt for putting up with me for so many hours. He put up with my genuine lack of understanding with cars and taught according to my learning needs. He didn’t let anything slip, he made sure I was a safe driver and not just someone who could drive the exam routes. The test felt easy because Matt got me so prepared; we spent the test morning practising ring-roads and manoeuvres. I was so happy to get a pass first time and I CAN drive a manual!
